Tom joined Cragin & Pike in 1974 after graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno and working as a commercial lines underwriter with the Fireman's Fund and Royal insurance companies. He has served as the President of Cragin & Pike since 1989.

Tom has been active in insurance industry affairs having served as President of the Nevada Independent Insurance Agents and as State National Director to the Independent Insurance Agents of America. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Nevada Surplus Lines Association. He received his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation in 1987.
